2nd Friday of month : 10-11.45am
The Coffee House opens on the second Friday of the month in the Church Centre from 10-11.45am. It offers an opportunity for friends to meet for a chat over a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy some home baking, all for £3. All are welcome.
Wednesdays during term time :10-12
Our drop in Toddler Group is held every Wednesday during term time and provides a safe and friendly environment for mums, dads, grandparents and carers to bring along children under the age of three.
Admission is £3.00 and includes refreshments, cakes and snacks for adults and children.
Pastoral Care, which includes a committee and volunteers, maintains contact by visits or phone calls with the frail, vulnerable, elderly, housebound and those in hospital in our congregation. We also oversee the monthly midweek communion, the monthly Nostalgia Café, the Time to Remember Service in December and the delivery of the monthly church magazine, The Outlook, to those without internet access.
Last Thursday of the month
The Nostalgia Café is primarily aimed at people who enjoy the social company of others and can share in memories of days gone by with our visitors and volunteers, alike, on the last Thursday afternoon of each month. The afternoon is centred round a cup of tea, cake, chat, powerpoint presentation and singing.
Tuesdays fortnightly
The Guild at Inverleith St Serf’s is a lively group of men and women meeting fortnightly on Tuesdays at 2pm during the winter. Inspired by the current national theme, the Guild enjoys talks and fellowship and shares in worship.
Cost per meeting is £2 covering refreshments.
We are blessed with an abundance of open space providing a ready-made platform for outreach to the surrounding community. Our green spaces provide a quiet, tranquil haven for those from within the church and also from the neighbourhood, seeking the beauty of nature and are lovingly looked after by our dedicated garden group which meets throughout the year on Tuesday mornings.
We have a Health & Safety policy and procedures in line with Church of Scotland guidance. The H & S committee operates a ‘no blame’ approach so that issues can be freely discussed and investigated and so that any learning points can be incorporated in revisions to the procedures.
The stewardship of creation and respect for the integrity of the earth are at the heart of the Eco Group’s thinking and work.
We try to keep up to date with latest environmental developments, and help the congregation respond appropriately – in worship, practical and prayerful action and through engagement with our neighbours near and far.
In 2025 the Group enabled the congregation to attain a bronze award from Eco-congregation Scotland.
We communicate with our congregation through Facebook; our website; a nine times a year magazine, The Outlook (which is available in digital and paper formats); pre-worship presentations and notices.
We communicate with the wider community through digital channels; through banners in our garden which borders a major thoroughfare; through a rolling presentation in the church vestibule and through notices and flyers.
The Book Group meets most Friday mornings at 10.30 am (except on Coffee House days).
