‘Jimmy isn’t home yet …’ the greeting to a soldier returning from the Far East – Forgotten Army – and unrecognisable to his sister.
The Rev Dorothy U Anderson, our current locum, will launch our booklet of wartime memories at the Nostalgia Cafe on 25 September.
Around 25 people have shared their war memories or those of close family and these memories along with illustrations and context material is now available. The Nostalgia Cafe has been chosen for the launch because that is where the project started. It will be available in paper format or PDF from Lorna Pratt.
There is no charge for the booklet but donations to church funds will be gladly accepted.
