Wednesday Reflection

“The Church is wherever God’s people are praising,
knowing they’re wanted and loved by their Lord.
The Church is wherever Christ’s followers are trying
to live and to share out the good news of God.”
I normally use a hook from our Sunday Service to help me write our weekly reflection! However, this week this was not to be the case. It then got me thinking about the words of the hymn above.
Church is still so often seen as the place we go, normally on a Sunday morning. Of course, this is just one way for us to worship and praise our Lord, but it’s only one way. Like many other aspects of life, covid brought us together, and continues to do in many ways. Have you joined in a service online, via facebook or youtube, have you read reflections written by others or simply taken time to read your bible?
There are many reasons people can’t get to church on a Sunday and find their own ways to worship our God. Can you reach out and support anyone who can’t mange? Have you thought about what you could do?
Without knowing it you have probably done many activities to serve our Lord during the week without even thinking about it.
Have you….
  • Found God in nature and thanked him for all he has created?
  • Prayed a silent prayer or sung your favourite hymn?
  • Stood with those working for social justice, equality and peace?
  • Spent time with friends and family, supporting each other through good times and challenges?
  • Supported a neighbour who is having a tough time?
  • The list is endless, as we continue into this week let’s think about what we can do to praise our Lord…
“Blessed are you, God, to you be glory and praise for ever. You supply strength to those who serve and words to those who speak. You teach us to love our neighbours as ourselves, to be hospitable to one another and to serve one another with whatever gift we have received.”
