In this last Wednesday Reflection before the start of Lent, we use this photo of part of a banner in Panbride Church, Carnoustie where I worshipped for many years. In our banner group we enjoyed creating banners to help worship and this one was made to celebrate the long history of the congregation from 1843.

If you look carefully you can see folk of every time in history and also the different ages all holding hands, being together. A congregation is built on the work of previous generations who worshipped and worked together and passed their legacy onwards to the next generation, not necessarily in the same building and also not necessarily in easy times and even not always agreeing with each other BUT the work of God came down the line to us in our generation and times and will go forward to into the future when we are gone.
