The Water of Life
Our theme on Sunday was water, the reading from John chapter 4 – Jesus speaking with the Samaritan woman at the well as she comes for her daily household water.
Jesus asks for a drink of water from the well. He tells her,”If only you knew what God gives, and who is asking you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
“Everyone who drinks the well water will be thirsty again but whoever drinks the water that I shall give him will never suffer thirst any more. The water that I shall give will be an inner spring always welling up for eternal life.”
Do we live with what we know, the usual round of life, the habitual tasks or will God fill us with his living water.
We sang hymn 722;
“Spirit of God, come dwell within me, come fill me with living water.”
“Lead me your way in light and in truth, come fill me with living water.”
