Wednesday Reflection for 18th February

Isn’t it interesting how various thoughts come together from different sources!

On Sunday at 9.30am we were at the Early Birds service where the theme was

God made each of us unique – like a snowflake!”

Together we said these words to start the session.

As we come together this morning let us think of:

the beauty of God’s world

the snowflakes – wonderfully made so that no two are alike

how each of us is crafted to be unique like a snowflake

how snowflakes remind us of our place in God’s plan

And then during the 10.30am worship we sang hymn 97 written by Bernadette Farrell and based on Psalm 139. This is a wonderful hymn and the last verse particularly resonated.

For you created me and shaped me, gave me life within my mother’s womb.

For the wonder of who I am, I praise you: safe in your hands, all creation is made new.’

Prayer from the Early Birds.

Dear God,

We are all made different and unique. May we love the differences in other people.

We ask you to help people who are teased because they seem different, give them strength to not feel alone.

Help us to understand and be kind to those around us.

Thank you for our special ideas and abilities and help us to use our talents to make the world a better place bringing glory to your name.   Amen.
