On Sunday, we used this Call to Worship at the start of the service.
There is a story in the Old Testament about a vineyard.
You will find it in Psalm 80.
The ground was prepared, and all was made ready, but instead of good fruit, the grapes that grew were wild and bitter.
What had happened in that place of promise was that people forgot the One who planted the vineyard.
They chose their own ways and failed.
Our last hymn was 710 in CH4
“I have a dream” a man once said, where all is perfect peace;”
Verse 3 speaks of the state of the world we see in the news and in our own country, of persecutions, wars and hate, of bitter strife; it speaks of how our dreams of peace fade and we lose sight of Christ’s light and we lose the way to go.
