On our Pilgrimage around the Church building and gardens in Lent, Journey in Hope, we crossed several thresholds as we walked through doorways or from the walled garden out to the front of the Church.
Doorways remind us that in life there is a lot of going out and coming in;
many places on our way where life changes as we move from childhood to adulthood; as we transition from primary school to ‘big’ school, to college and work; as we make friends and relationships that may last a lifetime or just for a while; as we grow older and what was once easy becomes a challenge.
We should take time to think about the significant beginnings and endings in our lives; to consider the chances and opportunities that we encountered on our way; even to remember the wrong turnings and difficult decisions that are part of our lives:
And give thanks for God’s constant presence,
even through death to life eternal.
John ch10 vs. 8 and 9
So Jesus spoke: In truth I tell you,
I am the door of the sheepfold…….
I am the door; anyone who comes into
the fold through me shall be safe.
They shall go in and out and find pasturage.
