Wednesday Reflection for 8th April

Wednesday Reflection after Easter Sunday

Christ is alive! Let Christians sing.

The cross stands empty to the sky.

Let streets and homes with praises ring.

Love, drowned in death, shall never die.

On Sunday at our Easter Day service, with the children, we looked at this picture of a new tree growing out of a dead stump, the old, apparently dead felled tree is giving shelter and life to the new sapling. A new strong tree is growing out from what seemed dead and gone.

In the days after the first disciples found the empty tomb and were just were beginning to realise that Jesus’ crucifixion was not the end, but was in fact the start of a new way of living, they moved from fear to peace to joy.

As we move forward along our journey with Jesus, individually and as the body of Christ this is our prayer too.
