Wednesday Reflection for April 2nd

Pilgrimage

The idea of life as a journey, a pilgrimage is not a new one. Journeying with God is at the heart of many of the Old Testament people;

Noah in his ark, Abraham and his very long journey, Ruth with her mother-in-law, Moses to the Promised Land, and here in Lent we continue to think about the journey of Jesus life; moving ever closer to Jerusalem.

And we consider the journey of our lives.

Looking back we can see the way we have come to reach today. Often not the place we thought we would be in but here we are.

It has not been a walk on our own but with many companions on the way.

We are pilgrims on a journey,

and companions on the road;

we are here to help each other

walk the mile and bear the load.
