Wednesday Reflection
Over this last week the phrase, ‘the little springtimes in our lives’ that was used in last week’s reflection cropped up again, both in conversation with others and in various guises in services this week.
Talking about coping with mental and physical troubles with someone, we realised that we both had found this idea. In one case – looking for and focusing on ‘glimmers’ in life or in another ‘looking for and appreciating little springtimes in our lives’.
During the service on Sunday we heard about our church garden twinning with a garden in Africa through the Ripple Effect charity which is a gift that plants hope for a family in rural Africa giving them a glimmer of hope for the future.
At the Pram service on Monday, we read the story of the parable of the sowing of the seeds in a First Bible for Children, sang and made a spring garland at the crafts table.
Each glimmer in our lives can be passed onto another as we meet, talk and share, helping to grow the little springtime in our family, church and community.
Our Prayer at the Pram Service this month is:
Dear Father,
Help us to be like the seeds that fell on good soil, that we may hear God’s message and try to keep it in our hearts too. At this time of year, thank you also for giving us sun and rain to help the crops grow in the fields and the spring flowers to bloom. We know that not all the world is as lucky as us and do not have enough food and water. Give us help in sharing what we can. Amen.
